There is a lot of history in
saddle making dating back many
centuries ago. The materials our ancestors used to create a
saddle
were mainly wood & leather.
Today's saddles are constructed out of ralide or fiberglass
covered
wood or rawhide covered wood.
The crossing of breeds over the last 20 years have created
unusual
shaped withers and shoulders, thus the original
shaped saddle tree just won’t fit the large variety
of horses
anymore.
A lot of focus has been put into improving the saddle pad over
the last decade. Many good, but expensive pads have been
designed to help distribute the
weight evenly across the
horse’s back. However if the original saddle tree doesn’t fit
properly, the pad will do very little to address the problem.
Having the opportunity over 20
years of mfg. and doing
repairwork on all types of saddles enabled me to identify
where
the pressure points are on a hard to fit horse.
Since December 2006, I have produced 50 E-Z Fit®
Saddles that have found their way to a happy horse and rider.
One of the most exciting improvements that we have found
was that the horses weren't
stumbling as much. So the
difference between theE-Z Fit® Saddle and the
traditional
solid tree saddles is the fact that there isn’t any resistance
there
to keep the horse from making a higher & longer stride.
It is a proven fact through many studies,
that the longer the
stride of your horse, the smoother the ride is for the rider.
Our
saddle structure was tested on a computer mapping
system, and also the “Impression Pad”, with
very good results
on many types of horses.
